Oak Department

The Oak Department

For children between 3 – 6 years old.

Here the environment is adapted for the older children. We work according to Montessori pedagogy (see Montessori pedagogy) which means we always start from the child and their needs and development. We go to the beautiful forest area nearby every week, and we also go on excursions and to the theater.

A typical day at Oak:

7:30 AM Breakfast at Linden
8:30 AM The children move to Oak and begin their activities.
11:00 AM Circle time (children are often divided into smaller groups)
11:30 AM Lunch prepared at the preschool
After lunch there is a short rest period.
1:00 PM Children have activities outside in the yard
2:30 PM Snack
5:00 PM Preschool closes
